Meet Sim!
Smriti came from an affluent family in Kathmandu Nepal, and was raised in a joint family setting with lots of relatives. Trying new recipes, cooking together in the groups and creating new dishes whether it be for religious events, cultural celebrations, or just family gatherings in general had become a family tradition that became a passion that she loved and cherished.
“I grew up eating all the good foods but never had to cook myself. I would help my mom fix the spices and watch my dad cook. Unlike typical households in Nepal, where meals were prepared by the ladies of the house, our house was more of ladies creating and blending the spices and men using their creativity to create new dishes and items. Besides our everyday basic food, Daal-Bhat-Tarkari, there would always be something new that was created on the given special occasion. It was a fun and combined effort that kept the families together in close unity.”
Smriti came to the United States in 2000 to pursue her college degree. She not only left her loving family behind but also left the flavors and home cooked meals that she dearly loved. Her craving for good food landed her on various food related jobs like food sales and restaurants while she was still in college. After her college degree in Finance and Corporate Management from CSU Eastbay, and several corporate jobs she decided to follow her passion and start Namaskar Foods in 2015.

ABOUT NAMASKAR FOODS
Authentic Nepalese and Indian flavors from our kitchen to yours!
Founded in 2015, Namaskar Foods was established with the concept of providing local and fresh California grown ingredients with home cooked flavors of Nepal and India. Namaskar Foods has been able to win the hearts of the Bay Area locals through its prepackaged items at the local farmers markets in California.
Namaskar Foods participated in more than 50 Farmers Market throughout the bay area providing flavorful curries, chutneys, momos, samosas and more to the locals. In spite of high demand for the products, Covid-19 caused a huge setback in terms of local selling through the farmers markets since the majority of the markets had been closed.
Namaskar Foods thrives on serving the best pre-packaged food products to the consumers with a goal to serve larger populations beyond farmers' markets. Namaskar Foods has ventured out on online selling and shipping its products all over America.
Namaskar Foods is now looking forward to winning the hearts of all authentic food lovers by making it easy and convenient for families and individuals with busy lifestyles, to enjoy the South Asian flavors from the comfort of their homes.

I must tell you that your product is great and what impressed me the most that your food stated fresh until I ate it. I tried it from the Stones-town market in San Francisco you are a great addition to our market for sure. You're prices are fair and the taste is super. Your sales person is really nice and that mean something to me. Because no smile no cash.I'm trying something new this week so I hope it stand up to the past ones.

I am a fan of momos so will order it whenever I see it at a restaurant whether it is Tibetan or Himalayan. So imagine how excited I was seeing Cheryl's review of Namaskar. However running across them can be a challenge until I surprisingly saw them at the SL Downtown's Farmer's Market on Wednesday. Immediately buying their last two packs and having them keep it on ice while we browsed the rest of the market, it was a no brainer what was for dinner that night. Delicious on its own or with any of their sauces like that green apple one.Joyce Z.

Regular at farmer's market in Mission Bay (which is about to be shut down). The momo and pockets are vegan (served with no yogurt).I found the momo a little bitter for my taste, but still good. The pockets are good too ($12 for 4), although a touch heavy, but go good with the dips.
Definitely worth trying out.

I came across their booth at the Farmer's Market at Kaiser in Walnut Creek this week. I bought a variety of items (some little veggie Gojis, Butter Chicken Masala, Chicken Roti) all quite tasty. The woman selling her items offered me a taste of any and all of her many 'dips'... I tried 3 or 4. But I have to say-- the best thing I got that day was a container of their green apple cilantro dip. It is SOOO good. I already finished the other items that I was dipping in it, so I had to bust out some pita chips to keep dipping more! It is quite tasty, as was everything. I felt like some of the prices were a bit much for wht I got (2 little tiny pies/Goji were $5 or 6 I believe) but overall, I like supporting small business and these foods were TASTY. Look for them at farmer's markets!Michele W.

I found them at the Farmer's Market at Todos Santos Plaza in Concord. I am in love with their Green Apple Cilantro spread and Keema Roti (Chicken) filled flatbread. So good!Madison A.
